Before becoming a PA, I worked as a Biomedical Scientist at Whiston Hospital and Arrowe Park Hospital. During this time, I specialised in Haematology and Transfusion Medicine. When I discovered the PA role, I instantly thought it was a promising, exciting and innovative role. I was fortunate enough to gain a place at the University of Liverpool where I completed the course and graduated with a distinction.
I currently work for Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital, delivering the Cheshire and Merseyside Respiratory Improvement Programme. The programme aims to improve care for patients living with respiratory problems across the region by utilising a collaborative workforce with PAs. My role involves delivering clinics out in the community during summer and rotating to work in A&E departments during winter months.
My ambition is to plan and support implementation of innovative models, new ways of working, and workforce transformation; where PAs are utilised to create a workforce in line with the NHS mandate and vision.
