The On Becoming programme is an experience which can change how you approach your work, your self and, most importantly, your patients. But you shouldn't just take our word for it, below are some statements from those who have experienced the programme.

The On Becoming programme was a great opportunity to take a step back from clinical practice and evaluate my strengths and weaknesses in a place that was free from judgement and filled with positivity.

I learnt a lot about myself and I learnt a lot about other people too, especially about how we can effectively bring our different skills and styles of working together to gain success and create opportunities for ourselves and our profession.

I gained confidence in my presenting skills and learnt that I can be a good coach for others. I was also inspired by my physician associate colleagues from other parts of the country and the work they are doing.

The On Becoming programme is a programme that is difficult to explain because what you learn/develop cannot be exported or articulated into words.
This programme peels your layers, gets you to look within, encourages you to grow. Appreciate that what you do not know, you do not know.

It has been invaluable for my leadership development. I have not come across a programme like it, and feel that it has given me great insight into my unconscious processes so that I can work with these in future to be the best that I can be for myself and for others.

I was delighted to be invited to attend the 'On becoming' 'graduation day' in Salford in June 2019. I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, and was very pleasantly surprised. I have been around the PA world for over 15 years (I like to say I have more 'PA Pack years' than any other UK doctor) and would love to see a similar opportunity for all UK-trained PAs. The course was clearly enjoyable and empowering; as someone who was found public speaking difficult in the early years (I used to write myself scripts, including pauses and jokes) it took me a good few years to be able to extemporise. And yet these relatively new PAs, many of whom had, I understand, 'made themselves do the course' to try to develop their leadership skills, including but not limited to public speaking, really impressed me.

I heartily recommend this experience to any newly qualified PAs

The On Becoming programme was a truly unique experience, and the most useful course I have engaged with to date. I was constantly challenged within a highly supportive environment. The programme was invaluable for my leadership development.

It was a privilege to become part of the first cohort of the On Becoming programme. Learnt a lot from this programme and looking forward to using the skills learnt as an advocate of the physician associate role

Fantastic course - empowering physician associates to embrace their role with confidence and authority, offering opportunity to grow and develop. Enhancing communication and coaching skills to improve the delivery of patient care.
